Step into your story. Walk with courage.

For girls aged 9-14 seeking connection, confidence, and calm away from screens and social pressures

Rising Girl Hikes are confidence hikes for girls in East Sussex, inviting them to step into the stories of history’s boldest changemakers while exploring the stunning Seven Sisters landscape. These guided outdoor journeys blend movement, storytelling, and open conversation to build confidence, manage stress, and inspire self-expression.

Drawing on over 25 years’ experience in gender justice and wellbeing, Dr. Felicity creates supportive spaces that help girls feel strong in who they are and empowered to shape their own stories. Most importantly, they learn that they are already good enough exactly as they are.

Step away from screens, unplug from school and peer pressure, and enjoy being free in nature. Experience the Seven Sisters cliffs on a guided walk, created especially for girls aged 9-14.

We start at Cuckmere and finish at Birling Gap. The route includes planned stops for group activities and inspiring stories about trailblazing women who challenge injustice, protect communities, and achieve great things.

These confidence hikes give girls in East Sussex the space to breathe, move, and discover their own strength – away from the noise of daily life.

Walking. Connecting. Rising.

Testimonials

Erin

I think the stories were so good and inspiring. It made me feel empowered and strong. I’ve learned a lot about strong and independent women, and it’s inspired me to do things like they have.

Olive

I liked how inspiring the walk was. It is good to encourage girls and get out. I think we should do walks with younger kids too. It made me feel strong and good at the end.

Matilda

I really enjoyed the walk. The pace was comfortable and the distance felt just right, even for children aged around 6 to 15. It’s a fun way to add exercise into your day while learning something new. I especially loved hearing about generations of women who proved that gender is no barrier to achievement in science, technology, engineering, and maths, and how their work created real change. I finished the walk feeling energised and ready for the day.

Harriet

I learned to be myself and be confident. I love Rising Girl Hikes. I think it is a great idea. Everything went really well. Please continue with this opportunity for girls.
